Songs about men giving it to women like they've never had it before
Sexy songs on Valentine's Day for you and the people you want to love (explicitly)
Hi everyone,
If you put me in charge of a playlist, I’m going to make it really specific. This includes, but is not limited to: songs to file taxes to, songs for sipping spritzes on the veranda, and songs for Pisces women. I know it’s still Aquarius season; I just don’t have a playlist for it.
I do, however, have a playlist for songs about men giving it to women like they’ve never had it before. There are many of these songs. Too many, in fact. Songs from confident men who really want you to know that your body deserves to be loved (in the explicit way).
You don’t have to have a man, or even like men, to want to be loved. Valentine’s Day is such a touchy subject because what started as a ruse to sell Hallmark cards is now culturally seen as some defining moment of everyone’s self-worth—which we all know is bullshit. Whether or not you’re in a relationship, receive a gift, or even the minimum acknowledgement of a returned a text in a reasonable amount of time, is not some profound indication of the universe saying, “I am worthy of love.” At best, sometimes these gestures are useful in reminding you that you have a pulse.
Love is conditional. Love is generous. Love is giving to yourself so abundantly that you are excited to give to others. Love can be a nice bubble bath, a poem, a cuddle with a pet, acts of service, and I think there are a few other ones defined in that Five Love Languages book that I only learned about via repeat prompts on Hinge.
In the words of Miley Cyrus, “I can buy myself flowers”; in the words of Carly Fisher, “I will buy myself flowers, roll them up and smoke them, then listen to the Divinyls.”
Still, there’s nothing like having a quartet or duo croon about wanting making love to you as though it was their final dying wish before wondering how you suddenly ended up in a group sex situation. To be so anxious, like Ginuwine, that he sounds like he’s going to bust a nut before even hitting the chorus. To have All-4-One and Sisqo inform you that, yes, they can love you like that (generally) or 2Nite (U up?). And now you can find them all here, in one convenient playlist.
